The revamped motoring show was scheduled to debut on May 22nd.
Chris Evans’ revamped ‘Top Gear’ has hit another roadblock, after it was revealed the new series will debut head-to-head against ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. The show had been scheduled to debut on May 8th, but was then pushed back to May 22nd, meaning it will clash with the first of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’s’ live semi-finals on ITV.
‘Top Gear’ could suffer from going head-to-head with ‘BGT’.
A source told The Mirror: “The BBC has pulled a sharp handbrake turn. 'Top Gear' is already under intense scrutiny and the last thing they need is to try and launch it against ITV’s most popular show.”
The pair are said to be struggling behind the scenes, following last month’s Cenotaph stunt.
New ‘Top Gear’ hosts Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc are said to be struggling to get along behind the scenes, following last month’s controversial Cenotaph stunt. Evans is said to blame LeBlanc for the stunt, which turned into a PR nightmare for the new series.
Relations are said to be ‘frosty’ between Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc.
A source told The Sun: “Matt was never Chris’s choice — it was a decision forced upon him to attract the US market. He accepted it and was desperate to strike up a bond when they were filming, but the spark just wasn’t there.
The ‘Friends’ actor had to take time off filming the series after the accident.
Matt LeBlanc was reportedly left ‘badly shaken’ and needed to take a break from filming, after nearly running over a ‘Top Gear’ cameraman. LeBlanc was behind the wheel of a Porsche, which he had been taking for a test spin during a break in shooting, but did not realise a crew member was lying down filming at ground-level.
Matt LeBlanc was left shaken after a close call during ‘Top Gear’ filming.
A show insider told The Mirror: “In between filming, Matt got into a Porsche they’d been road testing, turned on the ignition and was about to take it for a drive. But he was completely unaware one of the cameramen was lying down alongside it at ground level, filming low shots.”
A minute-long trailer teasing the all-new 'Top Gear' line-up, ahead of its return to BBC2 in late May, was released on Thursday.
Featuring fighter jets, dune buggies, supercars and home-made vehicles as well as the iconic, be-helmeted driver known only as ‘The Stig’, the minute-long trailer released on Thursday (March 31st) looks as characteristically chaotic as the show was before.
In the short clip, Evans is seen being driven in an Audi R8 V10 by co-presenter Sabine Schmitz. At one point, the lurches and skids are so much that the new host asks to stop so he can get out and be sick!

Three of the show’s presenters and 40 crew members were left stranded in Moscow when making their way to Kazakhstan.
‘Top Gear’ were forced to abandon a filming trip to Kazakhstan, which reportedly cost the show £500,000. Presenters Rory Reid, Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz were all on the trip along with 40 crew members when they got help up in Moscow on Saturday and were forced to return home.
'Top Gear' has suffered another setback during filming for the new series.
According to The Sun, the group had intended to catch a connecting flight from the Russian capital but their plane never got off the ground after dispute between Kazakhstan and Russian airliner Aeroflot. The group were then forced to return to the UK, having filmed nothing.

In the wake of the Cenotaph car stunt in London a fortnight ago, Evans and LeBlanc are reportedly falling out while filming the new 'Top Gear'.
Rumours of a rift on the re-booted BBC motoring show surfaced earlier this month, after Evans apologised on his Radio 2 breakfast show in the wake of producers being branded as “disrespectful” when LeBlanc was allowed to film near the Cenotaph, the war memorial in London.
Chris and Matt are said to have fallen out about that incident, with Evans claiming the American presenter “didn’t take the incident seriously”.

The new series of ‘Top Gear’ has come under criticism already, thanks to a stunt near the Cenotaph in London.
New ‘Top Gear’ presenter Chris Evans has hit out at the show’s former hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, labelling them ‘Zippy, Bungle and George’. Evans did not say which of the former hosts was each ‘Rainbow’ character, but it seems the battle lines have been drawn between Evans' 'Top Gear' and the trio's new Amazon show.

Writing in his Mail on Sunday column Evans said: “Today I will be mostly on my travels again, this time going to Venice with That Car Show,” (via The Daily Star). "Good title, don’t you think? For a car show.”
The series came under fire for filming a stunt near the Cenotaph over the weekend, but Evans says the footage will now not be used.
‘Top Gear’ is facing more controversy today, over a stunt filmed at the weekend near the Cenotaph in London, which reportedly cost licence fee-payers £100,000. Host Chris Evans apologised for the stunt on his Radio Two breakfast show yesterday morning and now says the controversial footage will not be used.
Chris Evans has labelled the ‘Top Gear’ Cenotaph stunt ‘mortifying’.
Speaking to reporters after his breakfast show, Evans said: “I saw the images this morning for the first time and I felt the same as everybody else. That footage will definitely not go on the air no question about it.”

Chris Evans apologised on his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning, for a controversial ‘Top Gear’ stunt which was filmed near the Cenotaph over the weekend. On Sunday, host Matt LeBlanc was pictured driving near the war memorial in a Ford Mustang, leaving large tyre tracks on the roads surrounding the monument.

Evans said he had not been directly involved in the shoot, but had seen the pictures this morning. "It doesn't matter what actually happened, it doesn't matter what the circumstances were that could explain this away,” he told listeners (via The Sun).

The ‘Friends’ star is still getting used to the streets of London.
A London couple’s wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral was made extra special on Saturday, when their big day was gatecrashed by 'Friends' star Matt LeBlanc. The actor was filming scenes for the new series of 'Top Gear' with rally driver Ken Block, with the duo touring around the capital in a Ford Mustang.

The pair drove past the famous landmark just as the newlyweds appeared on the steps. Paul Bradbury, who witnessed the scene outside St Paul’s told the BBC: "It was very very loud and entertaining but everyone seemed to enjoy it.”

It was claimed over the weekend that Evans had referred to LeBlanc as ‘old hat’.
Mark Linsey, the acting director of BBC Television, has responded to reports over the weekend which claimed that new ‘Top Gear’ host Chris Evans had acted unprofessionally on set. The reports claimed that Evans’ behaviour had led to the departure of the show’s executive producer Lisa Clark and that he had been against hiring actor Matt LeBlanc as part of the presenting team.

In a statement Linsey said: “It is rubbish to suggest Chris Evans's behaviour on the set of Top Gear has been in any way unprofessional. Chris is a consummate professional and a real team-player.”

It has also been claimed that Evans didn’t want to hire Matt LeBlanc as his co-host.
‘Top Gear’ producer Lisa Clark reportedly left the series due to Chris Evans’ dictatorial behaviour, it has been claimed. A source told The Sun that Evans’ behaviour was the reason Clark quit the show in December, after just five months on the job.

A source told The Sun that Evans’ was “control freak who thinks he can trample over everyone” and workers were fed up with his ranting. The claims come after it was announced that the launch of the new series had been put back a fortnight to May 22nd and it would now consists of six episodes, due to filming delays.
Fans didn't get their long-hoped for new episode, however
The much anticipated reunion of everyone’s favourite 1990s sitcom stars finally arrived with the cast of Friends getting back together for NBC’s Tribute to James Burrows on Sunday. All of the Friends minus Matthew Perry, at least.

The cast of ‘Friends’ came together last night, as part of an NBC special honouring director James Burrows.
Last night the cast of ‘Friends’ (minus Matthew Perry) reunited for a one-off special honouring director James Burrows. While it might not have been the full reunion that fans wanted, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer were all on hand to spill secrets from the series, over a decade after they said goodbye for good.

Evans confirmed FOUR more presenters in addition to himself, Matt LeBlanc and The Stig.
A week after revealing Matt LeBlanc as a star addition to the re-vamped ‘Top Gear’ line-up, Chris Evans has now revealed the full list of his co-presenters for when the motoring show returns to BBC2 later this year – and there’s a lot of them!
Formula 1 commentator and former team owner Eddie Jordan and German racing driver Sabine Schmitz have been added, as well as motoring journalist Chris Harris and newcomer Rory Reid, who was selected from 30-second video auditions.
“A magnificent seven sent from motoring heaven,” Evans said on Thursday in a press release unveiling the line-up. “Well, six plus one. Six plus me… we really do have a bit of everything for everyone.”

LeBlanc was announced as one of Chris Evans' co-hosts on the brand new 'Top Gear' on Thursday.
The former ‘Friends’ star, 48, appeared on Evans’ BBC Radio 2 breakfast show on Friday morning (February 5th) to give listeners a little preview of what their on-screen chemistry might be like when ‘Top Gear’ returns later in 2016.
Apparently, he had no idea that the announcement would be so well-publicised. “I can't believe the response,” he said. “I mean I knew ‘Top Gear’ was a big show, but, wow, it was on the front page of The New York Times, did you know that? There was so much I couldn’t read it all.”
Having twice been a 'star in a reasonably priced car', LeBlanc will be the first non-British 'Top Gear' host in the show's history.
The 48 year old American actor is set to be the first non-British host of the motoring show in its 39 year history. Back when it was under the aegis of the now-sacked Jeremy Clarkson, LeBlanc twice appeared as a guest on the show in its ‘star in a reasonably priced car’ segment, and holds the record for the fastest ever lap by a celebrity around the test track.
“As a car nut and a massive fan of ‘Top Gear’, I'm honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter,” said LeBlanc in a statement when the news was announced on Thursday (February 4th). “What a thrill!”

The 'Friends' reunion certainly started off with a ‘big bang’ over the weekend.
The cast of ‘Friends’ have been pictured together for the first time in years, as part of an NBC event to honour TV director James Burrows. David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox were all present, with only Matthew Perry notably absent. However the group did find three interesting replacements for their missing cast member.
If you were hoping for a proper ‘Friends’ reunion, be prepared to have your hopes dashed once and for all.
When news that the cast of ‘Friends’ would be reuniting next month broke, many fans of the mega-popular 90s sitcom thought their reunion dreams were finally coming true. But not only is the upcoming ‘Friends’ reunion not really a reunion at all, it’s also definitely not a precursor to a ‘Friends’ movie or even a Netflix-style reboot.

The cast of ‘Friends’ (minus Matthew Perry) will all be together for an NBC special on Sunday, February 21st to honour TV director James Burrows. The fivesome will be appearing alongside cast members of other sitcoms that Burrows worked on, however Perry is unable to attend, as he will be working on a play in London.

Yes, you did read that correctly! For the first time since 'Friends' ended in 2004, cast members are due to get together for a TV special in February.
More than a decade since it went off air, ‘Friends’ is set to get a long-awaited cast reunion, as the stars have announced they will get together for an NBC special in honour of the comedy’s director, James Burrows.
NBC made the exciting announcement on Wednesday (January 13th) at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena, California. Burrows, who directed 15 ‘Friends’ episodes as well as a number of other comedy favourites like ‘Taxi’, ‘Cheers’, ‘Frasier’ and ‘Will & Grace’, recently wrapped the 1,000th episode of television he’s filmed in his career.
Lisa Kudrow will be joining the NBC special

In ‘The One With The Mugging’ Jennifer Aniston was temporarily replaced by a stand-in and it took fans 12 years to notice.
Most of us could probably recite episodes of ‘Friends’ word for word, but one keen-eyed fan has made a startling discovery while revisiting the classic sitcom on Netflix recently. In the season nine episode titled ‘The One With The Mugging’ there’s a split second where Rachel Green is NOT played by Jennifer Aniston and the internet’s mind is blown.
Jennifer Aniston played Rachel Green on ‘Friends’ (most of the time).
During one scene in the episode, Joey is enthusiastically ranting about the potential of a monkey also being at his audition, while Rachel stands behind him in a printed shirt. But when the camera pans back that’s not Jennifer Aniston standing behind Matt LeBlanc and she’s not even wearing the same shirt.
One ‘Friends’ viewer has shared his vision for how the sitcom could have ended, which sees Phoebe as a homeless drug-addict.
If you’re still mourning the loss of ‘Friends’ after all these years, then one fan’s bizarre (and kind of believable) take on how the sitcom could have ended might give you something to think about. What if 'Friends' hadn’t ended with them all leaving Monica’s apartment? What if all 10 seasons were instead revealed to have happened inside the imagination of Phoebe Buffay, who didn't actually have any friends at all?
Lisa Kudrow played Phoebe Buffay in the classic sitcom.
Writing on twitter ‘Friends’ fan Gareth Stranks shared his idea for how the show could have bowed out and it quickly went viral, because, well it’s pretty extraordinary. Stranks wrote that he wanted the series to be revealed as the ‘meth-addled fantasy of Phoebe Buffay as she stared through the windows of Central Perk.’
A 'Friends' reunion is not going to happen and Courteney Cox has said so.
It must be hard for the former cast members of our favourite 90’s sitcom ‘Friends’. It seems wherever they go and whatever they might be doing now, the big question still is, will there be a 'Friends' reunion? Courteney Cox was the latest victim of the oh so familiar question when she appeared on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman' on Monday. Unsurprisingly the answer was “it’s not going to happen”
Is a 'Friends' reunion happening? Absolutely not, says Courteney Cox
Whilst it might break the hearts of many ‘Friends’ fans, Courteney did her best on ‘The Late Show’ to try and put the reunion rumors to bed once and for all. When quizzed by the chat show host the actress firmly stated, “it’s not going to happen”. The former Monica also added that if she did say she’d like it to happen then all the other cast members would have to be contacted and told “well Coutneney’s into it” and she just doesn't want to be responsible for that headache.

Lisa Kudrow felt left out, when she read false reports that her co-stars had already agreed to do a Friends reunion.
Friends fans might have had their dreams squashed by NBC adamantly denying any rumours of a reunion, but so did Lisa Kudrow. During her appearance on Conan this week, Kudrow admitted to having fallen for a false report and a rather convincing graphic. In fact, the Friends actress claimed the graphic was so good, that she began wondering why no one at NBC had spoken to her about joining the project.
Kudrow herself was fooled by reports.
"Okay, first of all. The graphic for this one thing was unbelievable. It looked really real," Kudrow told Conan O'Brien. "And then they were posting this article and the headline was like, 'NBC Confirms 5 out of 6 of the Friends Are In,' and I went, 'Oh my God. They didn't ask me.'"
Sad news, but it's probably for the best? At least that's what Kudrow thinks
Fans of hit U.S comedy Friends (or F.R.I.E.N.D.S because, why not?) were either horrified or gasping with excitement when rumours of a Friends (F.R.. alright fine) movie were bandied around. A Friends reunion, though, is not on the cards, according to everyone’s favourite kooky New Yorker, Phoebe Buffay (although she’s a real person and she’s called Lisa Kudrow.
Too old? Kudrow thinks the time has passed for a reunion
Talking to CNN about her current work, Kudrow was dragged back into a Friends chat, as she so often is.

Friends creator Marta Kauffman has ruled out a 2014 reunion.
Speculation that the cast of Friends were ready to reunite for a 2014 reunion reached fever pitch last week. Jennifer Aniston, Matt Le Blanc, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox were apparently ready to commit to another season of a show, with a graphic featuring the Friends 'sofa' and 'The One With the Reunion' began circulating online.
The apparent silence of the key stars only added to the rumors, though Friends creator Marta Kauffman finally spoke up at the Call me Crazy premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (April 16, 2013). "I'm going to clear this up-it's not happening!" she said, deflating the hopes of thousands of Friends fans. "Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore." Funnily enough, Kauffman said she first learned of the rumor when overhearing some people talking about it at a bar. Nevertheless, representatives for NBC and Warner Bros are yet to comment, though a source at NBC told E! Online the rumor was "not true."
Last year, Aniston - who played Rachel Green in the long-running series - played down a reunion, especially on the big-screen. "I can't imagine how you would do it, unless you did it years from now.I can't imagine what that would be. It's not normal. Friends is in your living room; Friends is not in a movie theater. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self."
