Michael Jackson's Posthumous "XSCAPE" Is A Hit, But Why Is Jermaine Jackson Disappointed?

By Victoria Pavlova in Music / Festivals on 14 May 2014

Despite Jermaine Jackson's disappointment, the album is a hit with critics.

Michael Jackson’s posthumously released album of previously unheard songs is just falling into the hands of critics. It’s the first posthumous album, released by Epic Records, under the guidance of LA Reid himself. As such, a team of high-profile producers, including Timbaland, Stargate and Cory Rooney, was hired to work on the songs, which Reid rescued from the “Jackson vaults.”

Image caption Xscape is predicted to be the bestselling album of 2014.

One possible collaboration, however, was notably overlooked. The Jackson Five don’t feature on the album at all – not even as solo artists. According to TMZ, Jermaine Jackson in particular is a bit peeved by the oversight.

Jermaine Jackson Thinks Wade Robson Is Full Of Something, And It’s Not Love

By Jack de Aguilar in Lifestyle / Showbiz on 13 May 2013

Jackson didn't waste any words when talking on Robson

According to Jermaine Jackson, the allegations made by Wage Robson against his late, great brother, Michael Jackson, aren’t true. What’s more, he’s “Full of s**t”.

That’s according to Jackson, anyway. Jermaine tells TMZ, "Wade Robson is full of s---. Wade Robson and his mother helped me with my book. He got on the stand and told the courts that Michael never touched him and it's the truth. ... I really don't know what's going on, there's no truth to it." "That's a big lie," he added. "Michael can't defend himself, Michael's not here." These explosive claims have lead Wade Robson to leave town as he moved to Hawaii. The 30-year-old filed a creditor's claim against Jackson's estate on May 1st seeking payment for the abuse he said lasted seven years. Jackson Estate lawyer Howard Weitzman responded saying Robson's claims are "outrageous and pathetic," adding: "This is a young man who has testified at least twice under oath over the past 20 years and said in numerous interviews that Michael Jackson never did anything inappropriate to him or with him."

The King of Pop died aged 50 from an overdose of powerful anaesthetic shortly before the This Is It shows were was due to start at London’s O2 Arena in July 2009. Since his death, numerous cases have gone to court regarding the nature of his passing.

Jermaine "Jacksun" Jackson's Name Change... Just, Why?

By Lorna Greville in Lifestyle / Showbiz on 08 November 2012

Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine Jackson has opted to change his name... kind of. He's really only changing the spelling, from Jackson, to Jacksun. But, with one of the most famous and most successful pop-music names in history, it seems a really bizarre move to change it at all. Nevertheless, that's what he's doing, and he has filed a name change petition in LA, according to E!.

A spokesperson for the singer told E! "His actual name has not changed. It's just the spelling, one letter. It is a personal choice of Jermaine's and it's not a big deal... Phonetically, it changes nothing. It is something he has chosen to do, and it's fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie, you've got to blame it on the sunshine." They also told E! that the change of name was for "artistic reasons".

Jermaine isn't the only artist to change his name for 'artistic reasons', although we can't entirely understand his choice, there are plenty of artists whose name change was definitely a good thing. Who would ever guess that a man with the very pedestrian name of 'William Bailey' could ever turn into Axl Rose? Billy Idol was born William Broad, Busta Rhymes original name 'Trevor Smith' and model Twiggy was called Leslie Hornby until fame found her. All these celebs have had to give the star treatment to their names, but there are others who have had to tone them down. Both Cary Grant and Dido had names that were a bit of a mouthful, originally called Archibal Alexander Leach, and Florian Cloud De Bounevialle Armstong, respectively. Well, the name change has worked for all these stars, perhaps the 'sun' will bring whatever Jermaine's looking for.

Blame It On The Sunshine! Jermaine Jackson To Become Jermaine 'Jacksun'

By Holly Williams in Lifestyle / Showbiz on 08 November 2012

Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine Jackson is set to abandon his musically royal last name 'Jackson' to the slightly random 'Jacksun' for purposes only given as 'artistic reasons'.

The Jackson 5 star, who is the fourth of the nine Jackson children and the brother of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson, has apparently filed a request for the name swap at the Los Angeles County Superior Court and will use the new moniker on his personal documents including his passport if his application is accepted. However, several media announcements must be made for it to be considered his official name. According to Fox News, a friend of Jackson, Steve Dennis, has defended the decision. 'Phonetically, it changes nothing. It is something he has chosen to do, and it's fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie, you've got to blame it on the sunshine', he joked, in reference to the Jackson 5 hit song 'Blame It On The Boogie'.

The news comes while Jackson currently tours with his brothers, Jackie, Marlon and Tito, as The Jacksons (as opposed to Jackson 5) which makes one wonder why he would suddenly want a name swap given this apparent reunion. However, the files state that the change is indeed due to 'artistic reasons' rather than hopeful estrangement from his superstar family who have had their fair share of conflicts since Michael's death.
