Taylor Swift appeared to link up with the Empire State Building on Thursday (20.08.26) as speculation over her next move intensified.

The New York landmark switched to green lighting, and its official X account posted a photo of the glow with the caption “WhaTS happening?”, using capital letters that matched the singer’s initials.

Earlier in the day, a bright green TS logo was spotted on a black wall at an undisclosed location. Fan groups shared images online, noting the symbol’s sharp, unfamiliar design.

More versions of the emblem have since been reported in other unnamed areas across multiple cities. Fans pointed out that the typeface does not resemble any branding used in Swift’s previous album cycles.

Swift has re‑recorded four of her original six albums since 2021. The remaining titles are Reputation and her 2006 self‑titled debut. Some fans highlighted Reputation’s black‑and‑green snake imagery as a possible connection to this week’s sightings.

Reaction online has varied. One fan said the artwork was “giving snake”. Another described it as “a mixture of [her] debut album’s aesthetic and Reputation’s”. Others suggested the possibility of a new era entirely.

The Empire State Building has marked Swift‑related moments before. It turned orange in August 2025 for The Life of a Showgirl. It lit blue in July 2026 to acknowledge her wedding to Travis Kelce.
