Bruce Springsteen says Jeremy Allen White is a natural rock star.

The 34-year-old actor portrays The Boss in the upcoming movie Deliver Me From Nowhere, and the Born to Run hitmaker was amazed by how "credibly" he transitioned into the role.

Speaking at a special Q+A at Spotify’s London HQ, ahead of the release of the biopic, he said: .“Jeremy is a rock star. And you can’t fake that. You’ve either got that, or you don’t.”

He continued: “He sings really beautifully. Very credibly. It’s fun to watch.”

The 76-year-old music legend was amazed by the emotional depth Jeremy achieved.

He said: “Jeremy’s performance was not imitative in any way … it was totally from the inside out. Not from picking outside elements and wearing them like clothes.

“Somehow it deeply relates to my story and myself. That was a really lovely thing to see.”

Jeremy learned how to sing like Springsteen and recently explained how he picked up a lot from The Boss, who was involved in the making of the flick and made regular visits to the set.

The Golden Globe-winning actor told Variety: "A lot of what I learned from Bruce was in his actions and the way he moves through the world.

"Early on, I was impressed by how gentle and kind he is with the world. For a man who has been where he has for decade after decade, that's a real rarity to still be so grounded, to have so much humility, to be so available and honest – not just with me but with the world around him.

"It's a beautiful thing to see, and it gives me hope for myself and for all artists."

Springsteen quipped that Jeremy played "a much better-looking version of me" in the movie.

The 76-year-old singer added: "I spent my life on the road, moving around the world as kind of a musical ambassador for America, you know... trying to measure the distance between American reality, where we've often fallen short of our ideals.

"But for a lot of folks out there, she continues to be a land of hope and dreams, not of fear or divisiveness or government censorship or hatred."
