Donald Trump has unleashed a fresh wave of criticism of Bruce Springsteen, posting a lengthy message about the musician on social media the morning after Springsteen opened his Land Of Hope And Dreams tour in Minneapolis.

The comments follow their previous public exchanges during Springsteen’s European dates last year, which had already prompted speculation that Trump might respond once the US leg began.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS. The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America. Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the ‘hottest’ Country, by far, anywhere in the World. MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!!”

The Glory Days artist had told the crowd in Minneapolis: "The America that I love, the America... that has been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous administration."

Springsteen implored the audience to choose "unity over division" and urged them not to be despondent about the political climate in the United States.

He has not responded publicly to Trump’s latest remarks, but there is plenty of time, with the tour set to continue across North America in the coming weeks.
