BLACKPINK's Jisoo has turned to Britney Spears' work every time she prepares for a solo release.

The 30-year-old K-pop star released her debut mini solo album 'AMORTAGE' last Friday (14.02.25) and now she has revealed the 'Oops!...I Did It Again' hitmaker was the inspiration behind it.

She told Billboard: "I love Britney Spears. I grew up listening to Britney Spears, and every time I prepare for a solo release, I always find myself going back to her … 'Baby One More Time’ music video as a reference.

“I love that pop vibe, and I always say, ‘I want to shoot something with that kind of energy.

“It’s a video I consistently use as inspiration when creating my own.”

The four-track EP, which was released on Valentine's Day' features a song where she sings about a perfect romance, called 'Your Love'.

Speaking about the qualities that her ideal man has, she revealed: "I love it when someone has similar taste in food.

“And if they treat me well, that makes me really happy.

"But I think having the same sense of humor is the most important. If that doesn’t click, things can feel a bit dull.”

BLACKPINK - who have been named as one of the best-selling girl groups ever, thanks to 40 billion streams and selling 20 million records globally - took a break in the last year.

ROSÉ released her first solo album 'Rosie' in December, while LISA's album 'Alter Ego' is set to come out in February, and JENNIE has collaborated with Dominic Fike on her January single 'Love Hangover' before she shares her single album.

Despite the 'FLOWER' sensation having described being a solo artist as an "amazing experience", Jisoo admitted it can "get a little lonely sometimes".

The band is set to reunite this year, with them hinting at a world tour.

She said: "Last year, as each member focused on individual activities, we all grew a lot.

“Now, as we come together for this year, I feel like we’ll be able to return with an even bigger and more spectacular presence.

"Everyone’s excited about it, and we’ve been sharing ideas. We’ve already done a lot of preparations for this year.”

'AMORTAGE' is available to stream on Spotify now.
