Jack Osbourne has confirmed that the long‑planned biopic about his parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, has officially secured its lead actor.

Speaking on a special episode of Influenced, the SiriusXM show hosted by Billy Morrison, Jack said the team has chosen the performer who will portray late Black Sabbath legend Ozzy — though the name remains under wraps for now.

Jack said: “We have our decided pick, and I can't say anything yet, but it's a phenomenal, phenomenal actor."

The film has been in development at Sony for several years, and Jack noted that it is finally moving into a more active phase.

He continued: “We are in full steam in the next phase of development with this movie.

“That's an acted movie that we've been developing with Sony studios for, like, six years already.”

Billy suggested that Ozzy would enjoy seeing his life adapted for the screen, and Jack agreed, saying his father kept his expectations simple. “

He explained: "I'd give him updates: ‘Oh, we met with this guy’, and ‘this is happening’. And he just would go, ‘I don't give a s***. Just tell me when it's out so I can go see it.’”

The biopic is expected to focus on Ozzy and Sharon’s relationship and the period surrounding Ozzy’s rise as a solo artist. With casting locked and a director in place, the project appears to be closer than ever to entering production, though no filming timeline has been announced.
