Hayley Williams shuts down Paramore break-up rumours
Paramore rocker Hayley Williams has denied rumours that the band have gone their separate ways.

Hayley Williams has denied speculation that Paramore have split.
The Decode singer, 36, sparked concern among fans after dropping her surprise solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party last month, packed with cryptic lyrics about emotional turmoil and possible heartbreak - with many listeners reading between the lines and fearing it signalled the end of the band.
Fuel was added to the fire when Williams began selling t-shirts reading “Hayley Williams Is My Favourite Band” on her official merch store - a move many interpreted as a hint she was stepping away from Paramore permanently.
In an interview with The Face, Williams addressed the rumours directly, she said: “Do we ever know where we’re at?! We always take huge breaks. In order for us to metabolise s*** that we go through as people, it takes the amount of time it takes between albums.”
She added: “There are no better musicians in the world than Zac [Farro] and Taylor (York). There are no better performers than [the touring musicians affectionately known as the] Parafour. It’s just magic, man. I feel such a vindication in knowing that nobody can discount Paramore.”
The Grammy-winning trio have had a turbulent history, plagued by line-up changes, label drama and long, unexplained hiatuses.
In 2022, Williams confirmed she was in a relationship with York, adding to the speculation that parts of her new solo record may be referencing a personal split.
However, the band appeared to stabilise with the release of 2023’s This Is Why, the first time the same core members had appeared on two consecutive albums.
Williams revealed Paramore had been writing and demoing new material while supporting Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour, but she needed time to work through her emotions, inspiring her solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party.
The album’s rollout was unusual - initially previewed as a 17-track surprise project called Ego on her website, then released track-by-track as singles, before being officially compiled last month with an added 18th song, Parachute.
The physical album is set for release on November 7 and is available for pre-order.
