'There’s no, like, alter ego...' Sabrina Carpenter spills what her Short n' Sweet persona is
Sabrina Carpenter has opened up about how her pop persona on 'Short n' Sweet' is really a "more emphasised" version of herself.

Sabrina Carpenter was finally able to show off her true self on 'Short n' Sweet'.
The 25-year-old singer released the LP in August and it went on to become a smash hit across the globe thanks to the singles 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please'. The record was also crowned Best Pop Vocal Album at the recent Grammys.
Sabrina insists her sixth studio album has finally allowed her to show off her true self in her music.
In an interview with the new issue of Vogue magazine, she said: "'Short n’ Sweet' is absolutely me. There’s no, like, alter ego. But it’s definitely a more emphasised version of me.
"It’s interesting because I’m able to dress in this way where you would kind of expect to hear like a voice from the ’60s. But then, when I’m speaking to the audience, I’m just myself."
Sabrina considers 'Short n' Sweet' to be an evolution of her music which began back in 2015 with 'Eyes Wide Open'.
Now, her songs, fashion and stage shows are all a culmination of who she is as an artist.
Sabrina explained: "I started wearing outfits that felt more like myself. And then it sort of bled into, like, I was writing these songs that felt more and more like my personality."
What was an incredible 2024 for Sabrina is only set to get better and better for her in 2025.
On Saturday, March 1, Sabrina will perform at the prestigious BRIT Awards with Mastercard at The O2 in London.
What’s more, the 25-year-old pop star will be presented with the Global Success accolade, given to artists with “phenomenal global sales”, following in the footsteps of One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Adele and Sam Smith. It marks the first time an international act has been chosen to receive the award.
On Saturday, July 5, Sabrina will perform one of her biggest concerts to date when she headlines the British Summer Time Hyde Park festival.
Her return to the London event comes two years after she supported BLACKPINK at BST Hyde Park.
Sabrina's performance that day is considered to be one of the pivotal moments on her rise to the top of the music ladder.
