After decades of marriage, even one of music's greatest love stories occasionally required an emergency exit.

Dolly Parton spent Jolene begging another woman not to steal her husband, Carl Dean. Nearly 50 years later, watching him asleep in his favourite chair apparently inspired a slight revision.

Speaking about married life, Dolly joked: “Every once in a while I see Carl leaned back, snoring in his La-Z-Boy chair and I think, ‘Where is Jolene when I need her?’ Come on, you can have him now!”
