Former Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton has unveiled her new solo single Fantasy - from her debut EP Extraction.

New track Fantasy follows the release of Numb, which she co-wrote with Andy Gannon.

An atmospheric pop track, Fantasy explores themes of resilience and realignment in difficult moments - and is inspired by Natasha's ambition to leave Atomic Kitten in the past and reinvent herself as an artist and person.

She said: "At its heart, Fantasy is about connection - not just to someone else, but to yourself. ‘To get back to you’ is about realignment. It’s about choosing strength when things feel uncertain. This isn’t about returning to who I was. It’s about stepping fully into who I am now.”

The 43-year-old singer was part of the original line-up of Atomic Kitten - the girl group created by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) members Andy McCluskey and Stuart Kershaw - along with Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon. Jenny Frost replaced Kerry in the group in 2001 after the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner fell pregnant with Molly, her first daughter with her first husband, Westlife star Brian McFadden.

Natasha went on to have three UK number one singles, Whole Again (2001), Eternal Flame (2001) and The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling) (2002), as well as two UK number one albums, Right Now (2000) and Feels So Good (2002), as part of Atomic Kitten.

The girl group went on hiatus in 2008, during which Hamilton released the solo single Ms. Emotional, before reuniting with her band members for The Big Reunion TV show in 2013, which brought Kerry back to the band.

After various tours and Kerry quitting the group for a second time in 2017, Natasha announced her departure from Atomic Kitten in 2024 after 26 years as a member. The group went on to feature on the BBC documentary Girlbands Forever.

Previously, Natasha revealed she would not rule out a reunion with Atomic Kitten but never mentioned the possibility of Kerry returning for a third time.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Natasha confessed: “I mean, never say never with a reunion, because nostalgia always hits people at different times, and I’ve spent a lot of time with Jenny this summer.

“Obviously Liz has just had a baby so right now is not the right time, but I always say never say never.

“We’re so close, the three of us, and I’m hopeful that maybe in the future at some point we would be able to come together and do that.

“I think as the years go by and you get further and further away from it, your mind’s recollection is like, “Wow, it is almost like, did it really happen?”

“But I know it very much did, and I’ve got wonderful memories, you know we went through some hardship but I feel like the good times definitely outweighed it."

Kerry, 45, previously claimed in her book Whole Again that she and Natasha “got physical” when on tour in Australia in 2017, both accusing one another of setting up unflattering pap shots of the other.
