Twenty One Pilots announce concert film of landmark Mexico City stadium show
Twenty One Pilots have a concert film shot at their acclaimed show in Mexico City heading to cinemas next month.
Twenty One Pilots are bringing one of the biggest nights of their career to the big screen, announcing a new concert film that documents their huge Mexico City performance on The Clancy World Tour.
The film, titled More Than We Ever Imagined, will screen in IMAX and cinemas worldwide from February 26, with special IMAX previews beginning a day earlier on February 25. Tickets go on sale January 15 via TwentyOnePilots.film.
The project centres on the duo’s sold‑out show in Mexico City, where they performed to 65,000 fans in one of the most significant headline moments of their career. Shot in one of the world’s most vibrant music cities, the film mixes high‑impact live footage with a closer look at the band behind the scenes, capturing the atmosphere as Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun prepare for the stadium date.
Audiences will follow the band from their arrival in the city through to the moment they walk onstage, with the film offering personal commentary from both members. Their reflections trace the long road that led them to this milestone show and highlight the bond they’ve built with their fanbase over more than a decade.
Visually, the film aims to recreate the scale and intensity of the night. Aerial shots of the stadium, cameras positioned onstage and in the crowd, and sweeping views of the production are designed to place viewers inside the performance rather than simply observing it.

Director Mark C. Eshleman, who has worked with the band since their early days, said the film captures both the fan experience and the perspective he has witnessed for years from behind the camera. He recalled watching the band play tiny club shows to only a handful of people, performing with the same commitment they now bring to stadiums. The new film, he explained, allowed him to document that evolution with more than 20 cameras focused on the crowd and a separate lens following Tyler and Josh backstage.
He said: “I have spent the better part of the last 16 years of my life following Twenty One Pilots around the world. I have seen them play clubs that were in the basements of bigger clubs for an audience made up of only the other bands on the bill. I have seen them play those clubs as if they were on a festival stage during a headline slot and then quietly drag their gear up the steps and into a trailer that limped behind our touring van. They would chat for hours, fine tuning the show basically no one saw. Their fingers never leave the pulse of the performance; they swear by preparation and a vision.
"For More Than We Ever Imagined, we were given the opportunity to capture two perspectives of a Twenty One Pilots performance: over 20 cameras centered around the fans experiencing their show and, the second, the perspective I have had all these years leading up to that sold out stadium in Mexico City, a camera following Tyler and Josh as they take the fundamentals of their show and apply to one of the biggest stages.”
Trafalgar Releasing’s EVP of Programming, Kymberli Frueh, added: "From building an audience one fan at a time to becoming a global touring force, Twenty One Pilots continue to redefine the magic of concert tours.
“This all-new film marks their second time bringing a concert experience to cinemas — and their first with IMAX — delivering the scale, sound, and shared energy that make it feel as close to being at the live show as possible.”
