BTS have made history once again - as their 2020 smash hit Dynamite has officially racked up two billion views on YouTube.

The K-pop superstars - made up of members RM, Jin, SUGA, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook - debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment and have since become one of the biggest music acts in the world. With this latest feat, they are now the first-ever K-pop boyband to hit two billion views on a single YouTube video.

Big Hit Music confirmed the news on Thursday (04.09.25), celebrating the achievement on social media. The colourful, feel-good video has gained over 100 million new streams since December alone, proving the group’s staying power even five years after its release.

Released during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dynamite was BTS’s first full English-language single and became an instant global sensation. It debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US and was praised for its disco-pop energy and uplifting vibe.

The achievement comes just weeks after all seven members of BTS reunited for the first time since 2022, having completed their mandatory military service. The Butter artists were forced to put their careers on hold in 2022 as 18 months of military service is compulsory for all men in South Korea.

During a special livestream, the band revealed to their fans - known as the ARMY - they’re officially working on a new album, set for release in spring 2026, with a world tour to follow.

BTS said in a statement: “We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas.

"We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started. We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album.

"We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”

RM revealed recently that BTS had been working "diligently" on their new record.

In a message to fans on the platform Weverse, the 30-year-old star said: "It's already been a little over two months since I was discharged from the military.

"I'm from faraway Los Angeles. I live, work, and play with the members. It's a really strange experience. It feels 'Bon Voyage Pyeongchang.' It's weird already, right... Anyway, I feel like I'm working diligently somewhere."

He also promised to "commit" himself to the making of the new album.

RM said: "Making something 'together' with these friends, I'm going to commit myself to this moment. I'm going to thank you. It's our next album.

"I'm looking for what I'll become. Something I've forgotten for too long, the moments that are far away together. I hope that it will be a kind of beauty."
