Lana Del Rey's new country album, Stove, will likely be released at the "end of January".

The Video Games hitmaker was planning to drop the record last May, with the collection undergoing two title changes, from Lasso to The Right Person Will Stay, and now, Stove.

Lana has explained that the delay was because she wanted to add six additional tracks to the record.

In a new cover interview for W Magazine, she of the new songs: “They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time."

The West Coast singer - who worked with country star Luke Laird and her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff on the LP - explained that she had wanted to make a country record long before it became the in thing to do with the likes of Beyoncé, Post Malone and Chappell Roan all jumping on the bandwagon.

She said: “The majority of the album will have a country flair. Eight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country. Now everyone is going country! I’ve asked myself, Should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I put my cowboy hats in storage?”

In an update on the album in April this year, Lana told fans on Instagram: "I'm really happy for this album to be moving along. I do have a lot more to say [about] that ... I mean, you do know it's not going to come on time right? Like... should I even tell you that the name changed again? Should I tell you that now, while you're so happy you even have a song? Yeah... maybe I'll wait."

Lana treated fans to the new song Henry, Come On, a collaboration with Laird, who has worked with Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Little Big Town.

She later dropped another new track called Bluebird.

More recently, Lana shared a clip of an unreleased track that is said to take aim at singer Ethel Cain.

Stove will be the follow-up to 2023's acclaimed Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
