Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland has revealed she has undergone a second kidney transplant following a donation from her brother after a kidney from her father in 2012 failed. The 28-year-old star has been plagued by health issues since a young girl and underwent a first kidney transplant to cure a condition called dysplasia, when the organs do not develop properly.

The actress has been dealing with health issues for years

However, towards the end of 2016 the kidney started to fail, and Sarah received a second transplant from her brother Ian, 23, in September 2017.

Sarah Hyland has revealed a long speculated-upon secret concerning her ‘Modern Family’ character Haley Dunphy – she’s bisexual.

The 26 year old star, who has held down the role of Haley on the ABC comedy since it debuted way back in 2009, had an impromptu question and answer session with her Twitter followers yesterday evening.

Over the nine seasons of ‘Modern Family’ thusfar, Haley Dunphy has not yet dated a girl – but her love life has always been a recurring theme of the series and its plot lines. She dated a boy named Dylan for a bit at the start of the series, but then for multiple seasons, she and a character named Andy were in a will they/won’t they storyline before finally getting together in season seven. With a tenth series of 15 episodes in the offing, however, that all might yet change.

‘Modern Family’ star Sarah Hyland has opened up about her body, trying to set the record straight about recent rumours surrounding her fluctuating weight and appearance.

The 26 year old actress, who has played Haley Dunphy on the ABC sitcom for all eight of its series, posted a series of updates via her Twitter account on Wednesday (May 24th) explaining that she’s been dealing with a number of health issues over the last year that have meant she’s “not in control” over her weight.

“I haven’t had the greatest year. Maybe one day I’ll talk about it but for now, I’d like my privacy. I will say that this year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes,” she wrote in a series of screenshots.

Since 1992, EJAF (Elton John AIDS Foundation) has raised over 321 million USD to help combat AIDS/HIV. One of the biggest events on EJAF's calendar is that of the Academy Awards Ceremony - for the last 23 years, Sir Elton John has hosted a special Academy Awards viewing party, in which celebrities from all areas of the entertainment industry come together to watch the Oscars, whilst raising money for the foundation. This year was no exception.

Of course, as with any Oscar party, members of the Hollywood elite were in attendance, like Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. But also, tremendous musical talent flocked to West Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. In addition to Sir Elton John, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were there to pose for pictures, as were Miley Cyrus, LIL' KIM and Kylie Minogue. Moby and Beck also stopped by to help raise awareness for the fight against HIV/AIDS.

‘Modern Family’ are set for a groundbreaking episode later this month, which will examine the way families now interact with each other through social media, their mobile phones and computers. The episode, entitled ‘Connection Lost’, was shot entirely using iPhones, iPads and MacBook Pros and took just two days to film, but over a month to plan and design.

'Connection Lost' will focus on Julie Bowen's character Claire

The episode concerns Claire (Julie Bowen), who, when away on a business trip, becomes concerned about her daughter Haley's (Sarah Hyland) whereabouts. Claire then spends the entire episode frantically using Facetime, Facebook and the Web while waiting in an airport terminal, talking to other family members and trying to track down Haley.

Sarah Hyland's breakup from her ex-boyfriend Matt Prokop last month appears to be far more volatile than anyone could have ever imagined. The 'Modern Family' star has been forced to acquire a restraining order after her ex-love apparently choked her while threatening her life.

Court documents show the 23 year-old actress, who dated Prokop for nearly five years, claimed she was physically and verbally abused be her ex for the entirety of their relationship, TMZ reported on Tuesday (Sept 23rd).
