Jimi Hendrix 'was responsible for all the parakeets in Great Britain'
Now is the recently debunked theory that one of the world's greatest guitarists Jimi Hendrix, owned all of the parakeets in Britain.
The music legend - whose real first name was James - was born on November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington.
He moved to England in the latter part of 1966 after the late Chas Chandler, who was a bassist in the rock band The Animals, became his manager.
The myth was that he introduced Parakeets - a species of parrot that has long tail feathers to Britain after he released two of them to symbolise piece in Carnaby Street, Soho, London, in 1968.
Hendrix died from barbiturate-related asphyxia at the age of 27 in 1970.
However, according to a study in the Journal of Zoology, Parakeets - a species of parrot that has long tail feathers - existed in Britain in 1855.
