Morrissey has announced a UK exclusive headline show at London's The O2 arena next year.

The former Smiths frontman will only play a single date in his native country in 2026, at The O2 arena on February 28.

He announced on social media: “It’s a date.

“Morrissey is pleased to announce one night at London’s The O2, in a UK exclusive show on Saturday 28th February 2026.”

The general sale will take place from 9am BST on Friday (10.10.25), with a pre-sale set for the same time on Wednesday (08.10.25).

The last time the 66-year-old musician played London was at the Eventim Apollo in March 2023.

The Everyday Is Like Sunday singer recently cancelled a pair of shows on his North American tour after a "credible threat" was made on his life.

The show cancellations also came in the wake of the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk.

The affected concerts were Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut on September 19, and MGM Music Hall in Boston on September 20.

In a statement posted to Morrissey’s official Facebook account on the morning of the Connecticut show, his team said: “In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrisey’s life.

“Due to recent events and out of an abundance of caution for both the artist and band, the upcoming shows this weekend at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall have been cancelled. All tickets will be refunded automatically at your original point of purchase.”

The Ottawa Citizen reported Canadian authorities had arrested 26-year-old Noah Castellano after he allegedly issued a threat against Morrissey on the social media platform Bluesky.

According to court documents, on September 4, Noah allegedly wrote: “Steven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here it Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9pm, I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own illegally.”

The post, which used Morrissey’s birth name, was shared from an account titled “guy who gets shot in the head one hundred thousand times a day”.

Noah was later charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and released on $5,000 bail.

Morrissey returned to the stage on September 12 to headline CityFolk Festival in Ottawa.

His 2025 US run is due to end on October 25 in Los Angeles, before Morrissey's Latin and South American leg kicks off on October 31 in Mexico City.
