Ed Sheeran announces December European arena shows
Ed Sheeran will play a handful of arena shows in Europe this December ahead of his Loop stadium tour that begins next year.
Ed Sheeran has announced a series of European arena shows.
The Thinking Out Loud singer will be performing in France, Germany, the UK and Ireland in December in what will provide fans with a rare opportunity to see the music superstar in a more intimate setting ahead of his all-new Loop stadium tour, which begins in Australia in January 2026.
The gigs have been announced prior to the release of Ed's latest album Play on September 12.
For the Coventry and Manchester shows only, fans have the chance to pre-order the album exclusively through Amazon.co.uk before 7pm BST on Sunday 7th September to have the chance to secure pre-sale tickets.
As for the Paris, Munich and Dublin gigs, fans can sign up to register for presale before 23.59pm on Monday 8th September through edsheeran.com.
Pre-sale tickets go live at 10am BST on Tuesday 9th September 2025 with general on-sale tickets available at 10am BST on Thursday 11th September 2025.
Ed, 34, revealed how Play, which features the single Azizam, was made in response to the "darkest period" of his life in 2022 – when his best friend Jamal Edwards passed away aged 31, his wife Cherry Seaborn was diagnosed with a tumour while pregnant with their second child and he missed his grandfather's funeral due to a court hearing over one of the lawsuits he faced after being accused of plagiarism.
The Castle on the Hill singer said: "Play was an album that was made as a direct response to the darkest period of my life. Coming out of all of that I just wanted to create joy and technicolour, and explore cultures in the countries I was touring.
"I made this record all over the world, finished it in Goa, India, and had some of the most fun, explorative creative days of my life. It’s a real rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, it encapsulates everything that I love about music, and the fun in it, but also where I am in life as a human, a partner, a father."
