Roger Daltrey has announced a huge outdoor show in Essex.
The 79-year-old rock star - who is best known for his time as the lead singer of The Who - is the first act to be announced for Heritage Live Festivals’ 2025, and he will take to the stage on the grounds of English Heritage’s Audley End House and Garden on 1 August.
Giles Cooper from Heritage Live said: "Roger Daltrey is a true legend and we are so excited to welcome one of the greatest names in the history of rock to the stunning grounds of Audley End. This will undoubtedly be a gig that is etched in our memories for many years to come!"
As part of his gig, Roger will be accompanied by his nine-piece band, which consists of his regular The Who collaborator Simon Townshend on guitar and vocals, alongside John Hogg on bass, Doug Boyle on guitar, Steve Weston on harmonica, Jody Linscott on percussion.
Billy Nicholls will take on the backing vocals, whilst Katie Jacoby will be on violin, with Geraint Watkins on keyboard and Scott Devours on drums.
As part of the event, Roger will be performing some of his classics from The Who, the likes of which include ‘Substitute’, ‘Who Are You’, ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ and ‘Baba O’Riley’, as well as the rock operas ‘Tommy’ and ‘Quadrophenia’.
Roger is already hitting the road for a UK solo tour this April and May, which will seem him perform a mix of acoustic and semi-acoustic versions of The Who classics, solo hits and rare gems accompanied by his backing band.
The live set will be followed by one of the star's popular Q+A sessions with fans.
Special guests for the event will be Ocean Colour Scene and Cast.
Tickets for the show will be available on presale on Wednesday 5th February at 9am. Customers MUST pre-register at https://arep.co/p/rogerdaltrey for presale access. Tickets will then go on general sale on Friday 7th February at 9am from AXS.com/heritagelive.
