Melanie C gets sassy on new single Attitude
Melanie C has released her new single Attitude, taken from her upcoming album Sweat, arriving May 1.
Melanie C has released the track Attitude, a bold, high‑energy new single that marks the latest preview of her forthcoming album Sweat.
The song arrives alongside news of a run of in‑store signings, beginning in her hometown of Liverpool on release day.
Attitude continues the dance‑driven direction of the Sweat era, pairing club‑ready production with a confident, playful edge.
The song celebrates self‑belief and stepping fully into your power, with Melanie describing it as “that rush of adrenaline you get when you decide you’re done playing small.”
She adds that the track is “fearless, playful, a little bit cheeky,” and rooted in the joy of confidence, independence and choosing connection on your own terms.
She said: “‘Every night’s a Friday’ is that mindset of living boldly, unapologetically, and celebrating yourself.
“For me, Attitude is pure energy — sassy, cool, confident — and it’s about coming through with a brand new perspective and saying, ‘Clear the room… this is me.’”
The album draws inspiration from Melanie’s early years before the Spice Girls, when she was part of a group of friends known as “The F**king Yeah Four,” dancing through the Costa Brava rave scene in the early ’90s.
Those formative nights of freedom and connection inform the spirit of Sweat, which she describes as her most liberating record yet.
Recorded across London, Stockholm and Los Angeles, the album blends her pop legacy with her evolution as a DJ, celebrating movement, community and the joy of the dancefloor.
She admitted: “I’ve done a lot of soul‑searching.
“Now I just want to have some fun and get people dancing again.”
The single arrives as Melanie prepares for The Melanie C World Tour, a global run that will bring the high‑energy spirit of Sweat to fans worldwide.
The tour includes a headline date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on October 23, 2026. Remaining tickets are available at melaniec.net.
Sweat is released on May 1.
