Foo Fighters announce new album Your Favorite Toy - listen to the album's title track now
Foo Fighters have released their first music of 2026, the title track from their forthcoming LP Your Favorite Toy.
Foo Fighters have released Your Favorite Toy, the lead single and title track from their upcoming 12th studio album
The biting track marks the band’s first release of 2026 and introduces a sharper, more unsettling edge to their sound.
Your Favorite Toy also sets the creative tone for the full record. Frontman Dave Grohl explained that the song became the breakthrough moment during the album sessions, unlocking the direction the band had been searching for.
After months of experimenting, he said the track “lit the fuse” for the rest of the material.
He explained: “Your Favorite Toy really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”
The follow-up to 2023's But Here We Are arrives on April 24, following last year’s track Asking For A Friend.
Recorded at home, the project was co‑produced by the band and Oliver Roman, engineered by Roman and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent.
The single lands just ahead of Foo Fighters’ Take Cover world tour, which begins June 10 in Oslo after festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Bottlerock. The band will return to the UK later in June for two shows at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 25 and 27.
