Noel Gallagher confirms return to work, hinting new music is on the way
Noel Gallagher has revealed he's back to work after the Christmas break and the Oasis Live '25 tour.
Noel Gallagher has returned to work after the festive break, hinting new music is in the pipeline.
The Oasis guitarist revealed he was back to work on Monday (19.01.26), after a lengthy break.
Appearing on Radio 5’s Football Daily on Friday (16.01.26), he said: “The holiday was good. But, yeah, back at work on Monday. So it’s all good, mate. It’s all been going great.”
The well-deserved break follows the Oasis Live '25 tour, which wrapped in November.
Noel's brother, frontman Liam Gallagher, has already confirmed on X that Oasis won't be doing anything in 2026.
Noel, meanwhile, recently declared it "would be an honour" for Oasis to record the next James Bond theme song.
The reunited rockers were recently rumoured to be favourites to be asked to put together a title song for the next 007 film - but the Britpop icon admitted they haven't heard anything from Bond bosses at Amazon MGM studios.
During an appearance on talkSPORT, Noel was asked about the gossip, and he replied: "This James Bond thing? What, Oasis? Nah."
When asked if he would be interested in recording a Bond theme, Noel replied: "What for Oasis to do it? Absolutely. Of course. It would be an absolute honour, and I think those kind of things should be done by Brits not Yanks."
However, when he was asked if Bond bosses had been in touch, Noel replied: "Nah nah nah".
He went on to joke: "I'll play a villain. I'll play a Mancunian villain".
The Sun newspaper previously reported Bond bosses were keen to get Oasis on board to pen the theme tune for the next superspy movie.
A source told the publication: "The 007 films are one of the great British franchises. And who better to record the theme song than one of the greatest ever British bands?
"Liam’s swagger and Noel’s anthemic music would be perfect to soundtrack the new film. It is no secret that Noel is a big fan of the Bond films and he would love to have his name listed as one of the few songwriters of a Bond theme amongst greats like Sir Paul McCartney, Duran Duran and Adele."
Noel previously admitted he'd already written several songs that could be used as themes for a Bond movie.
He told NME: "It’s a p*** take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of f****** Americans. I’ve written a couple of Bond theme tunes.
"They haven’t got very Bond-esque titles, so I would have to tailor the title accordingly. The latest one that I wrote, I listened back to it thinking, ‘F****** hell man, that’d make a f****** great Bond theme’."
