Robbie Williams has stunned fans by unleashing his new album BRITPOP well ahead of schedule, arriving without warning in the early hours of Friday morning (16.01.26).

To mark the moment, the album’s artwork lit up several of London’s most recognisable landmarks, turning the capital into a giant launch party.

Originally slated for October 10, 2025 - just days after Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl - Robbie later shifted the date to February 6, 2026, openly admitting that competing with Swift’s chart power would have cost him a No.1.

Announcing the surprise release, he told fans: “You thought it was gonna be then… then we decided it wasn’t… and now I’ve decided it’s now. Ladies and Gentlemen: BRITPOP – the album.”

The record follows 2019’s The Christmas Present and 2016’s The Heavy Entertainment Show, and includes the previously released singles Rocket, Spies, Human, Pretty Face and All My Life.

Robbie has also assembled an eclectic cast of collaborators, featuring Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Gaz Coombes, Black Sabbath icon Tony Iommi, Mexican duo Jesse & Joy, and his former Take That bandmate Gary Barlow.

Robbie has long described BRITPOP as the album he dreamed of making after leaving Take That in 1995, during what he calls “a golden age for British music.”

Reflecting on the project, he said the record is raw, guitar‑heavy, and “even more upbeat and anthemic than usual,” adding that he’s “immensely proud” of the finished work.

Should BRITPOP claim the top spot, Robbie will match The Beatles’ record for the most UK No.1 albums.

Robbie recently teased that he has another five albums ready to go. Check out what he had to say HERE.
