Girls Aloud’s festive favourite Christmas 'Round At Ours gets standalone release
Girls Aloud are getting fans into the festive spirit early with the standalone release of Christmas 'Round At Ours

Girls Aloud are bringing festive cheer early this year with the long-awaited standalone release of their beloved Christmas album Christmas ‘Round At Ours.
Originally bundled as a bonus disc with the limited edition of their 2005 LP Chemistry, the seasonal fan favourite is now available to stream and download, with physical formats arriving on November 14 — including a CD and, for the first time ever, a striking red vinyl edition.
Remastered and reimagined, the album boasts a definitive track listing featuring four classic covers and four original Girls Aloud Christmas songs, penned and produced by Xenomania under their festive alter-egos S.Claws and Randy Snaps. Also included is a brand-new remix from the vault - Not Tonight Santa (Christmas Party Mix) - available both digitally and physically for the first time.
The release is packed with nostalgic extras, including sleeve notes from the band and never-before-seen photos from the original shoot. The album’s iconic artwork, which captures the girls in a retro kitchen scene, was even honoured by the National Portrait Gallery during Christmas 2023.
Kimberley Walsh recalled the album’s spontaneous origins: “Just as we were finishing Chemistry, Brian Higgins had a wildcard idea—why not record some bonus Christmas tracks? The label loved it and pushed for a full festive album to bundle with the deluxe edition.”
Nicola Roberts added: “We had one week to write and record everything. It was festive chaos! While we tackled the covers in the studio, Miranda Cooper and Lisa Cowling were in Devon writing lyrics for the originals.”
Cheryl described the songs as “kitschy and sometimes ridiculous,” noting that the album was always meant to be called Christmas 'Round At Ours, though it remained unnamed due to its limited release status - until now.
Nadine Coyle shared memories of the shoot: “The kitchen set looked like something out of a 1950s Hollywood movie. If you’d told us then that the image would be celebrated by the National Portrait Gallery years later, we’d never have believed it!”
The album’s focus track Not Tonight Santa will be accompanied by a heartwarming video featuring unseen footage of all five members - including the late Sarah Harding, who died aged 39, following a battle with breast cancer in 2021 - from the Girls Aloud Christmas archive.
Pre-orders are now live at girlsaloud.lnk.to/ChristmasRoundAtOurs.
