Charli XCX thought Troye Sivan’s fans wouldn’t want her on the Sweat Tour— then Brat happened
Charli xcx didn't think she would be a hit on the Sweat Tour before Brat changed everything.

Charli xcx wasn’t sure she’d be welcome on the Sweat Tour.
When she and Troye Sivan announced their co-headlining run in early 2024, she was just two months out from releasing Brat - an album that would soon redefine her career. But at the time, she feared she might be seen as an interloper.
She told Vanity Fair: “I was worried people would be like, ‘Oh no, who’s this girl preventing us from hearing Rush?’
“Um, and then obviously, you know, things kind of changed for me.”
Troye, meanwhile, was riding high on the success of his album Something To Give Each Other.
Brat became a critical and commercial juggernaut, earning Charli her first Grammy wins, a top 3 Billboard debut, and a viral cultural moment that turned her into a Gen Z icon. By the time the tour kicked off, fans weren’t just ready for her - they were ravenous.
Troye recalled the moment Charli took to the stage: “The sound that came out of the crowd when she appeared with the wind in her hair and the Brat green background behind her… It was a completely overwhelming response. I get chills thinking about it now.”
He added: “I am so happy to be a part of the community of gays that have been following her for so long.”
The jaunt included a North American leg in October 2024, and a one-off European performance at Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Spain on June 5, 2025, to celebrate Troye’s 30th birthday.
Troye recently hinted he wants to revive the Sweat Tour with Charli.
He told Attitude: “I think I can only do it with Charli. Maybe another [tour] with Charli. It was just like having a friend out there, and I think she really brought out the best in me. So, yeah, I would love to do it again with her.”
