Jordan Chandler Allegations (1993-1994)
The first sexual abuse allegations were levelled against Michael in 1993 by Evan Chandler, who accused the Billie Jean artist of abusing his 13-year-old son Jordan Chandler.
The Los Angeles Police Department started a criminal investigation, which was subsequently closed when Jackson settled out of court for $23 million in 1994.
After the allegations became public knowledge, Jackson cancelled the remainder of his Dangerous World Tour – citing health problems due to the scandal – and suffered severe damage to his public image and commercial standing, losing his long-running Pepsi endorsement.
