Later in the 1950s, she changed her name from Carol Klein to Carole King before meeting her future husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin.
The pair achieved their debut chart-topper with The Shirelles' 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' and also had hits with 'Take Good Care Of My Baby' (Bobby Vee), 'The Loco-Motion' (Little Eva) and 'I'm Into Something Good' (Herman's Hermits).
