Tapestry
It was in 1971 when King's life changed forever with the release of her album ‘Tapestry’.
The acclaimed LP features two of her most famous tracks, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ and ‘It’s Too Late’.
The latter immediately peaked at the top of the US Billboard Chart and remained there for fifteen consecutive weeks.
‘Tapestry’ earned King four Grammy Awards: Album of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Record of the Year for 'It's Too Late' and Song of the Year for 'You've Got a Friend'.
She was the first solo female artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year, and the first woman to win the Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
