The Cure have been unveiled as headliners for Austria's Nova Rock Festival 2026.

Robert Smith and co will top the bill on Friday, June 12, when the alternative festival returns to Pannonia Fields in Nickelsdorf. On the same day, The Offspring, Ice Nine Kills, A Perfect Circle, Three Days Grace, Social Distortion, Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, The Plot In You, Royal Republic, President, Thrown, Catch Your Breath, and Just Mustard will play.

Bring Me The Horizon, Iron Maiden and Volbeat will also headline across the four-day event.

The Cure were also recently announced as headliners for Paris' Rock en Seine on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

The Boys Don't Cry band haven't played a gig since their Songs Of A Lost World album launch at London’s Troxy in November 2024.

However, this summer saw Smith join Olivia Rodrigo onstage during her headline set at Glastonbury to perform The Cure classics Friday I'm In Love and Just Like Heaven.

Both duets were released with net proceeds from the songs donated to the Doctors Without Borders charity.

They are also part of Rodrigo's Live From Glastonbury (A BBC Recording) album, which will arrive on December 5 as a double LP vinyl, in both magenta and periwinkle variants.

Before bringing out Smith for his guest spot, Rodrigo hailed him as England's "best songwriter".

She said: "I’m so wildly excited about this next guest.

"He is perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England, he is a Glastonbury legend and a personal hero of mine."
