Fans are speculating about a new Rolling Stones announcement after cryptic posters and a linked website appeared under the name “The Cockroaches.”

A new wave of speculation has erupted among Rolling Stones fans after posters featuring the name ‘The Cockroaches’ — along with a scannable QR code — began appearing in the wild.

According to journalist and broadcaster Matt Everitt, the moniker isn’t entirely unfamiliar; the band previously used ‘Blue Sunday And The Cockroaches’ as a secret alias for a low‑key show back in the early ’80s.

Reacting to the new posters, Everitt wrote: "I could be falling for an elaborate April Fool’s hoax, or I could have dropped down a rabbit hole of obscure Stones folklaw, but this would appear to be some form of cryptic @therollingstones announcement, right?"

Scanning the QR code directs fans to a fresh website, thecockroaches.com, where a sign‑up button leads to a page boldly asking: “Who The F*** Are The Cockroaches?” and invites visitors to subscribe for updates.

As Everitt pointed out, the phrasing mirrors the iconic slogan from an old photo of Ronnie Wood wearing a shirt that read “Who the f*** is Mick Jagger?”

Those who register receive a confirmation email from Universal Music — the same label behind the Rolling Stones — adding even more fuel to the rumour mill.

Journalist Simon Harper also weighed in after exploring the site, sharing further clues hidden within the teaser.

He wrote: “The QR code takes you to thecockroaches.com, and a holding page that shows a sparse ‘70s bedroom complete with various ephemera dotted around – some plectrums, concert tickets, and vinyl records – plus a poster for The Cockroaches and a clock stuck on April 11th."

He added: “All quite random so far, I hear you say, but the website – as with the Hackney Diamonds one – is copyrighted to Universal Music, the Stones’ label, and if you forward the link to a friend, the accompanying image is of the phrase, ‘Who the f*** are The Cockroaches?’, written in the exact same format as that ‘Who the f*** is Mick Jagger?’ T-shirt worn infamously by @officialkeef and immortalised in Ken Regan’s iconic 1975 portrait.”

With the Stones’ history of playful teasers and surprise drops, fans are now watching April 11 closely — and wondering whether “The Cockroaches” is the start of a new chapter, a side project, or another classic misdirect.
