Japanese girl band f5ve have released an expanded edition of SEQUENCE 01.
J-pop girl group f5ve have returned with SEQUENCE 01.5, a sprawling 29-track deluxe edition of their debut album.
Packed with new material and a global roster of remixes, the two-disc release includes three brand-new singles - I Choose You, Wish, and Snowman - alongside 15 reworks of tracks from SEQUENCE 01, reimagined by a diverse lineup of underground electronic producers.
The project was developed in Tokyo under the guidance of executive producer BloodPop (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Jung Kook), with additional production from A. G. Cook (Charli xcx), who was recently named Producer of the Year at the BRIT Awards.
The remix contributors span continents and styles, with appearances from Japanese icons m-flo, Shinichi Osawa, and TeddyLoid, US. innovators like Dorian Electra, HANA, and Doss, and rising Korean producers The Deep and kimj. The UK and European scene is also well represented, with contributions from Hannah Diamond, Finn Keane, Count Baldor, and Himera.
To accompany the release, f5ve have shared a vibrant video for I Choose You, directed by Crystalline Structures Studio and produced by BloodPop and Count Baldor. The visual leans into the group’s signature hyper-stylised aesthetic, blending digital surrealism with playful pop energy.
In a statement, f5ve - comprising Sayaka, Kaede, Ruri, Miyuu, and Rui - described the album as a celebration of creative collaboration: “Through this album, we met many different artists, made new friends, and received so much support. For SEQUENCE 01.5, we worked with artists we truly respect—no matter their country, generation, or genre. It’s a project born from the wish to turn those connections into something real and lasting.”
The original album featured production from Hudson Mohawke, AOBeats, and A. G. Cook, plus a standout guest verse from Kesha on Sugar Free Venom.
