SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups and Mingyu have officially launched a brand-new sub-unit, CxM - with their debut mini-album Hype Vibes landing on September 29.

The duo, whose unit name is formed from the initials of their stage names, unveiled the project with a cinematic trailer shot in Los Angeles. The sun-soaked teaser follows S.Coups and Mingyu as they make their way separately to a lively beach party, featuring scenes of dancing, drinks, and strangers coming together.

Pre-orders for Hype Vibes are now live, although no tracklist or official song titles have been confirmed yet.

A rep for the duo described the album as “a bold, fresh side of S.Coups and Mingyu that fans haven’t seen before.”

This is the second official sub-unit for both members. S.Coups previously debuted in SVT Leaders alongside Hoshi and Woozi, while Mingyu paired with Wonwoo for hip-hop-focused work.

Fans are already buzzing online, with hashtags like #CxMDebut and #HypeVibes trending worldwide within hours of the announcement.

Future promotions may be limited, as Mingyu is expected to enlist for South Korea’s mandatory military service soon, though no official date has been confirmed. S.Coups is exempt from service due to a prior anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

SEVENTEEN’s Woozi and Hoshi are also due to enlist later this month. Despite the lineup shifts, the group has confirmed that solo and unit activities will continue, and all members plan to reunite post-service.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN will head to the US in October for the next leg of their NEW_ World Tour.

The group is set to perform nine shows across major cities, starting October 11 in Tacoma, Washington. Other stops include two nights each in Los Angeles (Oct 16–17), Austin (Oct 21–22), Sunrise, Florida (Oct 26–27), and Washington D.C. (Oct 29–30).

Chinese members The8 and Jun, along with U.S. citizen Joshua, are expected to remain active during the military enlistment period with solo and unit projects.
