Sweet return: Diana Vickers drops sizzling K-pop track Ice Cream

Diana Vickers scoops a sweet comeback with K-pop banger Ice Cream.
She first melted hearts on The X Factor back in 2008 with her dreamy vocals - now Diana’s back, dishing up a whole new flavour of pop with her K-pop inspired single, Ice Cream.
The 34-year-old star has traded in her trademark ballads for a bold K-pop makeover after a whirlwind trip to LA opened her eyes to the craze.
Speaking to the Daily Star’s Wired column, she said: “I love K Pop, oh my God! That song Your Love (by Black Pink Jisoo) is the formula to the best pop song, K-pop - I am mad about it.
“I was in LA recently with my friend Brendon. We had a whole night where he opened my world to K-pop. He just played it to me and I was like, ‘This is the best thing ever.’
“So yeah that definitely inspired me.”
Talking about her return to the spotlight, Diana admitted she’s navigating a new digital world and feeling a tad old in the process.
She added: “I’ve never done this with resources on TikTok and Instagram.
“It gives so many artists the chance to release music and blow up with no team around them.
“But what is it? Why do people just blow up? I don’t know. I’m just gonna go with it and try my best. You just gotta believe in it but I feel like a nana!.”
Even during her time away from the charts, Diana hasn’t slowed down - she’s dazzled on the West End, penned hits for other artists, appeared on screen, hosted a podcast, and more.
She said: “I’m a workhouse – I have done a lot. But if it’s not commercial, people don’t see it.
“They go, ‘Who’s this popping up again?’ That’s really not the case.”
