Donny Osmond to perform alongside AI version of his teenage self at Las Vegas residency
Donny Osmond has a special new co-star performing with him at his Las Vegas residency.

Donny Osmond is set to perform alongside an AI version of his teenage self at his Las Vegas residency.
The 67-year-old star is following in the footsteps of ABBA and their Abbatars from their majorly lucrative 'Abba Voyage' show in London by having a CGI-generated avatar of himself, depicting him at the age of 14, join him at his shows at Harrah’s Las Vegas.
Introducing his new AI co-star, Donny shared in a promo clip on Instagram this week: "I have a new co-star at my Las Vegas residency, and we going to be making history together. Can you imagine sharing the stage with your 14-year-old self? Well, it’s happening, thanks to some amazing AI and CGI technology. I going to be and singing with Donny Osmond, you know, the one from 1972."
He's then joined by his avatar and asks him: "What does it feel like to sing with yourself 50 years in the future?"
Young Donny said it's like performing with his grandpa and real-life Donny said: "You're my grandson Daxton Osmond."
Daxton said: "Well I guess I am Daxton Osmond, but I do like to be Donny Osmond."
It's poignant that Donny chose his 14-year-old self as he had his first hit at that age with 'Sweet and Innocent', which made him a teen idol.
The 'Puppy Love' singer started his residency at Harrah's four years ago and it will wrap in June.
The veteran pop star shot to fame in the family group The Osmonds alongside his brothers in the early 1970s before breaking out in his own right.
Donny went on to form a duo with his sister Marie and the pair later fronted a talk show series before launching a Las Vegas residency, which ended in 2019 after more than a decade.
