David Berkowitz: Hall and Oates

The Son of Sam killer was responsible for the deaths of six people in a spate of shootings in New York City between 1976 and 1977 and earned the nickname after signing of as the 'Son of Sam' in a letter taunting police.

Berkowitz claimed in an interview that the Hall and Oates track Rich Girl had motivated him to commit his crimes, although the claim can be disputed by the fact that his killing spree had already started before the song was released.
