In 2012, Will.i.am became the first artist to broadcast a song from another planet — his track Reach for the Stars was transmitted directly from NASA’s Curiosity rover on Mars.

Though he wasn’t physically there, the out-of-this-world premiere made him the only pop star who can claim a genuine Martian debut.
