Childhood: Chuck Norris was born in Ryan, Oklahoma to Wilma and Ray Norris. He had two younger brothers, Wieland (killed in action during the Vietnam War) and Aaron (a Hollywood producer). His parents were divorced when he was sixteen and he moved to Kansas and California with his mother and brothers. He joined the US Air force at the age of eighteen and was stationed in South Korea where he began to learn and take an interest in Tang Soo Do. After leaving the army at twenty two, Norris opened his own martial arts school.
Career: Chuck Norris made his acting debut in Dean Martin's The Wrecking Crew. Norris later met Bruce Lee at a martial arts demonstration in Long Beach and was asked to play his nemesis in the film 'Way of The Dragon'. This was the film that launched Norris' career, before his first starring role in the 1977 film 'Breaker! Breaker!'. In 1984, Norris starred in the Rambo-inspired Missing in Action which he dedicated to his brother Wieland who had been killed in 1970. As his film career began to diminish towards the end of the 1980s, Norris began a transition to television. 1993 saw the start of 'Walker, Texas Ranger', which starred Norris as an Viet Nam veteran turned Texas Ranger. The show lasted eight seasons and consisted of 203 episodes. Norris returned to acting in 2012 for the first time in seven years to appear in The Expendables 2.
Personal Life: In 1958, Chuck Norris married Dianne Holechek and the couple had two children before divorcing in 1988. During this time, Norris fathered a daughter in an extramarital affair. In 1998, Norris married again, this time with Gena O'Kelley and the couple had twins in 2001. In 2005, Chuck Norris became known for the internet meme Chuck Norris Facts, in which he is described as doing various super-human feats. In 2010, Chuck Norris was made an honorary Texas Ranger.
