Former ENHYPEN member HEESEUNG launches new Instagram as he begins solo career under the name EVAN
Former ENHYPEN member HEESEUNG has opened a new Instagram account and introduced the name EVAN as he prepares for solo activities.
HEESEUNG, who has officially departed ENHYPEN, has begun signalling the start of his solo career with the launch of a new Instagram account on April 8.
The singer posted a short profile video and a series of minimalist images, and introduced the name “EVAN”, strongly indicating a new artistic identity for his next chapter.
The visuals take on a pared‑back, art‑driven style, focusing on close‑up shots of his elbow, eyes and wrist, along with a brief clip of him looking directly into the camera.
ENHYPEN will continue as a six‑member act following BELIFT LAB’s announcement that HEESEUNG is stepping away to pursue his own music.
He first joined the group in November 2020 after competing on the I‑LAND survival programme.
In a statement released in March, BELIFT LAB said: “BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals. Through in‑depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that HEESEUNG has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”
The agency confirmed that ENHYPEN — now consisting of JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO, JUNGWON and NI‑KI — will “continue official activities henceforth as a group of six members.”
They added: “This decision comes after extensive deliberation. We understand that this news is a lot to process and may be received with mixed reactions. Nevertheless, we hope you understand that this decision was made for the future of ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG. ENHYPEN remains committed to sharing energetic performances with ENGENE. HEESEUNG will be preparing a solo album as an artist under BELIFT LAB.”
HEESEUNG also addressed fans directly in a letter posted on Weverse, reflecting on his time with the group and explaining that he has been developing personal material for some time, but held back to avoid overshadowing ENHYPEN’s activities.
