Grammy winner Chappell Roan filmed the moment she was surrounded by fans and autograph hunters while trying to go out for dinner in the French capital, telling followers she felt “disregarded as a human” as people ignored her repeated requests for space.

The 28-year-old singer filmed the incident in selfie mode as she stepped out of her car to head into a restaurant, immediately finding herself surrounded by a crowd.

Showing their proximity, she said in footage filmed by an onlooker and making the rounds on social media: “I’m just trying to go to dinner, and I’ve asked these people several times to get away from me."

Chappell then focused on one person who continued to ask for an autograph despite her pleas.

The agitated musician said: “This person I’ve asked several times to go away, and they will not… They’re hiding their face, because they’re ashamed."

Visibly shaken, she told viewers she felt “disregarded as a human,” adding: “These are all the people that are completely disregarding my boundaries.”

She then addressed the crowd directly: “All of you, I’m asking you kindly to please leave me alone and stop following me and harassing me. No, I’m not gonna sign.”

Chappell ended the clip by turning the camera back on herself and saying: “This is what it’s like, if you were wondering how it is.”

Stick Season hitmaker Noah Kahan, 29, has stood up for the singer, writing on his Instagram Story: “Maybe they should just leave her alone? Also those dudes saying, ‘I’m a huge fan,’ following her around are scalpers and are as bad as the paparazzi. F*** ’em all.”

In a piece to camera, he went on: “These people literally find out where you’re staying, where you’re flying into, where your team, family, whoever is staying, and they are clearly not your fans.

“They just sit outside places and try to guilt you into signing s*** so they can sell it, and they trick people like you who are just watching the video and don’t know what’s going on into thinking that someone is being rude to their fans when really they’re just manipulating you.”

He fumed: “They’re scummy, they’re manipulative, they’re parasitic, and, yeah, f*** 'em.”

On the other side of the argument, '80s pop idol Boy George, 64, believes Chappell should suck it up and enjoy the attention while she can.

He penned on X: "It's probably not helpful but I have been doing this fame thing for a while and you learn slowly and painfully that you don't get a free pass once you turn yourself into a bird of paradise. I watched @ChappellRoan filming the paps in Paris and I laughed because I have kicked off at them many times. The trick is to own your fame. yes, it's annoying at times but so is being ignored and told your a 'has-been. Life is always now and I think Chappell looks great but cheer up girl. The world is at your feet stop kicking it! It takes so much more time to say no to a picture or a signature. Boundaries are boring. Break them with the magic of kindness! (sic)"
