Embrace announce ninth album Avalanche and 30th anniversary tour
Embrace have a huge year planned, including a new album and 30th anniversary tour.
Embrace have confirmed details of their ninth studio album, Avalanche, which arrives June 12.
The release marks the beginning of a huge year for the English rock band, who will celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2026 with a packed schedule of headline shows, festival dates, a spoken‑word theatre tour, a new book, and another studio album already in the works.
The anniversary trek runs from November 9 in Aberdeen to November 28 in Cardiff, with shows across Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Nottingham, Brighton, Bristol, London, Birmingham, Cambridge, Margate, Torquay and Southampton along the way.
Fans who pre‑order Avalanche will gain access to an artist pre‑sale on February 4, ahead of the general on‑sale on February 6.
Frontman Danny McNamara says the new record captures some of the most direct and emotionally open songwriting the band have ever released.
He describes Avalanche as a collection rooted in small, fleeting moments rather than big statements:
He said:“Real, deep joy doesn’t live in the big dramatic moments — it lives in the tiny flashes of magic you only notice when you slow down. Once I finally started paying attention, they all came at once. That’s why the title Avalanche felt right.”
McNamara adds that the album embraces contradiction and vulnerability, with the band choosing “feel over perfection” in the studio.
He explained: “Life doesn’t wait for you to be ready.
“We let the songs stay uncomfortable. We let them say I don’t know or I’m scared. That honesty felt more real than anything we’ve done before.”
To launch the album campaign, Embrace have released a new single, Road To Nowhere. McNamara says the track explores the collapse of a toxic relationship:
He added: "You don’t realise you’re on a road to nowhere until you reach the end of it. The song is sad and uplifting at the same time — the intent was pure, even if the destination wasn’t.”
Avalanche is available to pre‑order now, with Road To Nowhere streaming on all platforms.
