Cast frontman John Power has lauded the "magical" Oasis reunion.

The Walkaway band have been opening for the Roll With It rockers on the Oasis Live '25 tour and believes that the reunion between Noel and Liam Gallagher after 16 years has lifted moods around the world.

John is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column as saying: "It just feels magical. I think this is a celebration, a unification of spirit and people in a world that is quite f****** vicious at the moment.

"There's a real sort of looseness you can feel.

"The bands are all performing in a really exceptional way. I know that we're f****** nailing it and Richard (Ashcroft) is too. But there is a special feeling when Oasis come on.

"The audience are really in the zone. It feels momentous, kind of like history being forged. We all know that this is more than just a gig."

Cast supported Oasis at the iconic Knebworth gigs back in 1996 but Power feels that the Wonderwall rockers' recent gigs have surpassed the concerts from three decades ago – with the July homecoming show at Manchester's Heaton Park a particular highlight.

The 57-year-old singer said: "There was something special about Heaton Park in the sense that it's not a venue, it's just an open space.

"The audience went all the way to the horizon on the hill. Manchester was the closest to the Knebworth feeling.

"There was an extra source of energy, a kind of fizz or static in the air."

Noel Gallagher and Power have a lengthy bond as the Oasis star was a big fan of his previous group The La's.

He explained: "We've always meandered around each throughout our careers.

"Respect has always existed between the two bands, from songwriter to songwriter and singer to singer."

Power claimed last month that the Gallagher brothers are in a "wonderful place" on their reunion tour, the first time they have been on the road together since Noel quit Oasis following a backstage row in Paris in 2009.

In an interview with Vulture, John said: "Noel and Liam seem to be in an absolutely wonderful place. They both genuinely … well, of course they want to be there, but you can feel the positive energy. It’s all going hunky-dory."
