Cast’s John Power says Oasis could release another album after 'life‑affirming' reunion tour
John Power believes Oasis can make another album after witnessing first-hand the spark between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher on last year's reunion tour.
Cast frontman John Power believes Oasis could still make another album together.
Power, whose band supported the Britpop legends during last year’s Oasis Live '25 reunion run, said the shows left him convinced that Noel and Liam Gallagher - who were sworn enemies before burying the hatchet for their first jaunt in 16 years - still have the spark needed to return to the studio.
Speaking about the experience, he praised Noel’s songwriting and Liam’s delivery, suggesting the pair’s strengths continue to complement each other.
He explained that watching the band perform their classic setlist reminded him how few writers can match Noel Gallagher’s ability to craft huge, anthemic choruses — and how naturally Liam brings those songs to life on stage.
Power - speaking to promote the Liverpool group's latest LP, Yeah Yeah Yeah - added that any future album would ultimately depend on how the brothers feel about working together again.
He told the Daily Star: "I know Noel's capable of writing one.
"Listening to the songs in the Oasis setlist I don't know anyone else who's got that sort of anthemic chorus catalogue. If Noel can write a great tune, we know that Liam can deliver it. So it's really down to how they feel. "I think creativity comes, and it happens then you have to capture it like a spark."
He continued: "In life if you have a fall out with someone, there's nothing better than burying that.
"It's such a relief to get rid of all that stress and to just kind of make up. Noel was playing his songs. Liam was singing his heart out. We were there cheering them on.
“It was quite a life-affirming experience. I think I’ll always be touched by what I experienced."

Reflecting on the atmosphere around the reunion dates, Power described the tour as unexpectedly emotional. He said the sense of unity among fans and musicians created a “special” environment, with each show building in energy as the run continued.
He went on: “I don’t think anybody expected last year, speaking to Noel and Liam and Bonehead and Richard (Ashcroft), I mean there was a tangible excitement. But it just got bigger and bigger and more like a broader church - the people, the communion, the unification, everybody singing.
“There was something very, very special. I mean, there was some seriously amazing, uplifting moments.
“We all got better and better, the energy levels, the songs. I know that had an effect on the band, it’s like the stage is blown away. We’re going to blow it away. By the time Oasis came on the place was just sizzling."
While there has been no official word from the Gallaghers about new music, Power’s comments add to growing speculation that Oasis may not be finished just yet.
Noel recently confirmed he was returning to work on January 19, after enjoying time off at the end of 2025.
Speaking on Radio 5 Football Daily, Noel discussed the break that followed the band’s blockbuster Oasis Live ’25 tour.
He said: “The holiday was good. But, yeah, back at work on Monday. So it’s all good, mate. It’s all been going great.”
The comments reignited talk of new material.
However, any immediate plans for further Oasis activity remain unclear. Frontman Liam Gallagher has already told fans on X that the band will not be doing anything in 2026, suggesting that Noel’s return to work could involve solo material or writing projects rather than a full band comeback.
Oasis haven't released a studio album since 2008's Dig Out Your Soul, released the year before they went their separate ways after a backstage altercation between Liam and Noel at their final concert at Paris' Rock en Seine Festival.
