Coldplay's special birthday message to man who made music dream come true
Coldplay's Chris Martin took a moment during their show at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night (30.08.25) to pay tribute to the band's manager and his life-long best friend Phil Harvey who was celebrating his birthday.

Coldplay took a moment to wish their manager Phil Harvey a happy birthday at their Wembley Stadium show on Saturday night (30.08.25) and pay tribute to him for helping them make it.
The band - who are on their Music of the Spheres World Tour - played the fifth night of their run of 10 shows at the iconic London venue and during The Jumbotron Song segment frontman Chris Martin made sure Phil, who has just turned 49, was featured on the big screen.
Chris, 48, told the crowd that Phil - who is Coldplay's manager and creative director - has been his best friend since they were teenagers growing up in Devon, South West England, and that without him the band may never have made it to Wembley Stadium.
He said: "Oh boy, alright hold on, this is my best friend since we were 13 years old. This is the head of our band, he's called Phil Harvey.
"We made him do this today because it's his birthday and we wanted to tell him we love him. Phil you look very good on the screen.
"When we were 13 and 14 we lived in Devon and we dreamed about doing this and somehow it came true. It probably came true because of Phil being so smart."
Chris then sang: "Phil, my beautiful brother, the sweeter and the sweetest buddy, you really know that you make are whole show, please don't run off with all of our money."
He then said: "Phil, I love you, happy birthday."
Elsewhere during The Jumbotron Song segment, Chris also serenaded five fans in the crowd who were dressed as bananas.
He sang: "Well look at that bunch of bananas, waiting for me to sing hello, thanks for coming tonight, making us feel alright, we love bananas because they are all... fruity."
At one point, as they played Sparks, Coldplay had to halt the concert so a fan could receive medical assistance.
Speaking to fans, Chris said: "What was the one where we stopped it and they were absolutely fine? It was in Toronto and there was a big kerfuffle and it turns out they were just very enthusiastic and we just got it completely wrong. On this occasion we were correct to stop, I think.
"Listen, all of us in Wembley Stadium wish you all the best. Thank you to the medical team for being so great. We're going to carry on soft rocking unless you us to stop. Right, thumbs up from the doctor, that's what we all want. Except in a certain... I don't know what's got into me today I think it's because one of my old school teachers is here I feel like I'm 14. Shall we go verse one of the song Sparks."
The set was packed with greatest hits and classic tracks, with highlights including Paradise, Charlie Brown, Yellow, Clocks and A Sky Full of Stars.
The band - also comprised of guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion - closed the incredible show with Fix You, feelslikeimfallinginlove and ALL MY LOVE.

Meanwhile, Coldplay have had to reschedule the final two dates of their Wembley run due to strikes on the London Underground train network.
The band apologised for rearranging the shows due to take place on September 7 and September but because of the the strikes - which will see Rail, Maritime And Transport (RMT) union members on the Tube take industrial action at different times from September 5 for seven days - it would be impossible to ahead with the gigs.
A statement from the band posted to social media read: "We're sorry to announce that, due to planned industrial action on the London Underground, we've been forced to reschedule our final two concerts of the current Wembley Stadium run.
"Without a Tube service, it's impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7th and 8th September.
"To avoid cancelling the shows, our only option is to reschedule.
"We're very sorry for the inevitable disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that this situation causes."
The Music of the Spheres World Tour show scheduled for September 7 will move to September 6 and the concert set to take place on September 8 will be moved to September 12.
Tickets remain valid for their rescheduled date, but any fans who are unable to attend their rescheduled show can get a full refund on their ticket from their point of purchase before noon on September 2.
Returned tickets are to go on general sale at 11am on September 3.
