Eddie Izzard - Live In New York DVD Release & Clips

Eddie Izzard
Live In New York

EDDIE IZZARD is a man given to serious musings over the inconsequential crap that comprises life on earth. He voices everyman’s concerns, no more so than in CIRCLE, a live DVD/video recorded at THE TOWN HALL, NEW YORK, to be released by VVL on NOVEMBER 18TH.

Like most of us, Eddie is curious about ways of saying bollocks to the Queen; like some of the greatest thinkers of the age, he’s queried whether the Grand Inquisitor played the barrel organ; like the majority of social commentators he’s wrestled with the question of what happens when you give guns to monkeys; in line with most orthodox intellectuals he has a traditional take on the Almighty’s consumption of the entire world’s newly created supply of marijuana on day fourteen, and the natural evolutionary outcomes; but unlike most of us, he gets well paid for talking total shit.

Shit based on agenda-topping issues such as: does the God Chaos live in a caravan? Did FLIPPER really say that MAO TSE TUNG had taken over mainland China? What happened when DARTH VADER tried to order Penne Arrabiata in a works canteen? Surely you can only pass a drug test when you're stoned? And if so, what happens at the Olympics?

Resplendent in six inch black stiletto boots, EDDIE is warmly welcomed by an audience that is deeply appreciative of the comedian’s off-beat style and iconoclastic take on the world and all things in it. Received wisdom is that Americans suffer from a genetically inherited irony by-pass, but CIRCLE provides conclusive proof to the contrary.

Unlike many cut and paste live stand-up videos, CIRCLE is a classily produced piece of work. It's Eddie's first outing on tape for four years, and it records the entire act, start to finish, with a rare gloss and style. The video was produced by FRANK GARRITANO, and directed by ANASTASIA PAPPAS. Lucky bastards who can afford a DVD player get to see some special extra footage. Unlucky bastards who buy the DVD but haven't got a DVD player, won't see anything at all.

For all serious students of lateral thought, CIRCLE is essential viewing. For all sufferers from tunnel vision, CIRCLE is essential therapy. Buy it if you can’t think straight.
