Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry were fresh out of rehab when they rented an old house in upstate New York in 1983 to work on music for a movie. But the pair quickly became convinced that something was very wrong with their surroundings.
Cooper recalled returning to a room to find doors and drawers he had left open mysteriously closed. Then, while the pair were eating dinner, they heard what sounded like someone moving furniture in the basement. “It’s making so much noise. It’s not even trying to be subtle,” Cooper recalled. After Perry described experiencing similar disturbances, the musicians “ran out of the place". Cooper later discovered that the house was where the author of The Amityville Horror had written the book.
