Diana Ross
Motown legend Diana Ross started out as the lead singer of The Supremes, and the girl group enjoyed global success.
Although they had a string of number ones, Diana left the group in 1970 due to tensions with the other members.
She almost immediately propelled herself to solo success with 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'.
From there, it was a hit after hit for Ross, as her solo career blossomed.
