Megadeth release first single from final album
Thrash metal greats Megadeth have released Tipping Point, the first single from their self-titled farewell album due out next year.

Megadeth have unveiled the debut single from their farewell album.
The thrash metal legends are to bring the curtain down on their legendary career with a self-titled last album, along with a farewell tour and a memoir from frontman Dave Mustaine and have released the first song from their final record - slated for release next year.
The explosive and lyrically unflinching Tipping Point begins with a thunderous guitar solo - giving fans a taste of what to expect from the band's swansong.
Dave Mustaine said: “We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day. I think we’re all being pushed to the edge right now, and it’s easy to lean into that feeling. But it’s important not to let things get you down.”
In a typically hard-hitting video directed by Leonardo Liberti, Mustaine is locked up in a prison and tortured as the band performs.
The final album will be released in 2026 via Dave Mustaine's Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group's new BLKIIBLK label.
Megadeth will bow out over 40 years on from the release of their debut album Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! and Mustaine explained that he and his bandmates - James LoMenzo, Dirk Verbeuren and Teemu Mantysaari - were determined to depart the stage on their own terms.
The 64-year-old musician said: “There are so many musicians who have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.”
Mustaine added: "If there was ever a perfect time for us to put out a new album, it’s now. If there was ever a perfect time to tour the world, it’s now. This is also a perfect time for us to tell you that it’s our last studio album. We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years."
