Brit rock legends Suede have unveiled plans for a huge UK tour next year to showcase their eagerly awaited tenth album Antidepressants, due out on September 5.

Kicking off on January 30 in Folkestone, Kent, the extensive tour will hit 17 cities including Edinburgh, Liverpool, Sheffield and finish with a bang in Brighton on February 21. Fans can grab tickets early from August 27 via an exclusive presale for those who pre-order the album, with general tickets going on sale August 29.

The tour announcement comes hot on the heels of Suede’s Takeover at London’s Southbank Centre this August and September - a six-date residency that’s already completely sold out.

The series kicks off with an exclusive Antidepressants performance on August 26, followed by a documentary screening and Q+A, two nights of classic hits with special guests, an intimate off-mic show, and wraps up with their first-ever full orchestral headline concert alongside the Paraorchestra on September 19.

Frontman Brett Anderson said: “It’s a chance for us to stretch beyond the usual rock gig format. We are all huge fans of the Southbank. It’s the heartbeat of the arts in London. Expect old songs, new songs, borrowed songs, blue songs, drama, melody, noise, sweat and a couple of surprises.”

Suede’s Takeover marks their return to the Southbank Centre for the first time since 2002’s David Bowie Meltdown.

Antidepressants channels the raw energy that’s made them one of Britain’s most intense live acts.

On the follow-up to 2022’s Autofiction - their highest-charting album in more than 20 years - Anderson said: “If Autofiction was our punk record, Antidepressants is our post-punk record. It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have. The album is called Antidepressants. This is broken music for broken people.”

Antidepressants will be available in multiple formats including CD (standard and deluxe), vinyl (standard and colour variants), picture disc LP, cassette and as a deluxe box set. All pre-orders are available here.
