Former NewJeans member Danielle has insisted she did everything she could to remain in the group, telling fans she “fought till the end” amid an ongoing legal battle with the band’s label.

During an emotional YouTube livestream, Danielle reflected on her departure and the months of tension that led up to it, admitting that walking away from the group was never her choice. Addressing fans directly, she said: “I fought till the end to be with my fellow members. There always is NewJeans in one side of my mind. This is not the end but the beginning.”

Her comments come as she faces a major lawsuit from ADOR, the HYBE subsidiary that manages NewJeans. In December, the label terminated Danielle’s exclusive contract before filing a civil damages suit reportedly seeking more than 43 billion won (approximately $31 million). ADOR has alleged breach of contract and significant financial losses connected to her exit from the group.

The case is currently being processed through the Seoul Central District Court, where it has been assigned to the same division that previously handled the high-profile legal dispute between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. Danielle has so far declined to comment publicly on the specific legal claims made against her.

Meanwhile, the future of NewJeans remains uncertain. Haerin and Hyein have agreed to return to ADOR after a court upheld the validity of the group’s exclusive contracts, while Hanni is expected to remain with the band. Negotiations regarding Minji’s position are reportedly still ongoing.

In an unexpected twist, the situation has even drawn in MrBeast after fans jokingly suggested he should "buy ADOR" or "buy NewJeans" to reunite the group.

Appearing on JasonTheWeen’s livestream, the YouTube star appeared to entertain the idea, saying: “Yeah, I mean, the number I keep seeing is $30 million. It’s a lot of money, but if it makes sense… if that’s what the internet needs, if that’ll help them bring them back together. Is that what they want?”
