Coldplay's Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland returning to Hackney Church for festive charity gig
Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland will once again be playing Hackney Church this festive season.
Coldplay's Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland are hosting another Christmas charity concert in London in December.
The pair will take to the stage at Hackney Church on December 3 to raise funds for the homeless charity Crisis and and War Child.
Last year, the Sparks hitmakers raised £350,000 for the former non-profit at the same venue.
Tickets will be available via prize draw, with 150 winners set to get two tickets.
Entries can be made up until 11.59pm GMT on Monday November 17. Head here for your chance to bag a pair of tickets.
Meanwhile, Coldplay are planning to extend their record-breaking Music of the Spheres world tour with 138 more shows planned for 2027.
The surprise reveal came during an electric September 6 performance at Wembley Stadium, where frontman Chris Martin teased fans with an exclusive update.
He said: “This tour has 138 more shows to go. We have a break coming up, and we’ll announce the shows for 2027 soon.
“But we only have two more this year, and then we’re gonna go and make this really special thing that we’ve been making for years and years, and it’s really good. But shush!.
“I’m telling you that because I want to tell you something I haven’t told anybody else. That’s what it is, OK?”
Since kicking off in 2022, the tour has been a spectacle of soaring visuals and planet-conscious innovation, covering arenas across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
Earlier this year, Coldplay reached a major milestone by playing what’s believed to be the biggest stadium concert of the 21st century. They also wrapped up a record-breaking 10-night run at Wembley Stadium, following two sold-out shows in Hull.
This makes them the first act to perform 10 times at Wembley in a single year, eclipsing the previous record of eight, set by Taylor Swift and Take That.
The band pledged to donate 10 percent of proceeds from the Wembley dates to the Music Venue Trust, supporting grassroots venues and emerging UK artists.
The Wembley shows were powered entirely by renewable energy, with no generators in use.
Electricity was supplied to the grid from Higher Power Farm, Coldplay’s new renewable energy and ecosystem restoration project in the west of England.
Formed in the late 1990s, the group have since achieved two UK number one singles and 10 UK number one albums.
Details on the 2027 dates and locations are yet to be revealed.
